A brains trust of engineers, orthopaedic surgeons, and doctors that came together to create orthopaedic devices for medical applications. Field Orthopaedics are driven by a need to do things differently and be disruptive in the medical industry the primary goal of improving the lives of both patients and surgeons.

Field Orthapedics are working three major projects at the moment:

1.The Micro Screw

The treatment of small fractures is often difficult due to the size limitations of the current technology and surgical instrumentation. As a result of these limitations, surgeons are tasked with the difficult procedure of correctly positioning and inserting a small screw that generates adequate compression to facilitate healing.

2.Rotator cuff repair

The shoulder is an important and complex joint however injuries are common and difficult to treat. Repairs need to oppose the native forces yet at the same time need to support and nurture the damaged tissue.

3.TriFix

Surgery changes the vascular perfusion of the operative site, walling off the local area with an impermeable scare. TriFix is a triphasic micro coating that uses layered biodegradable polymers with bioactive seeding to deliver the right antibiotics at the right dose at the site of treatment for the time needed.

The team has some big wins over the course of 2018, including the massive milestone - the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approving the Field Orthopaedics Micro Screw System.

They used this as a gateway to broker a deal with an American partner Ortho Sales. This has the potential to be a very lucrative partnership as global is forecast to be worth $60 billion by 2022.

Following on from our US release of the Micro Screw System, Field Orthopaedics is expanding its market presence in to EMEA.

This new partnership with the Ortho Consulting Group will allow Field Orthopaedics to provide this first in world product to hand surgeons throughout EMEA.
